Newsweek's Annual Oscar and Emmy Roundtables

An editor came over to me with a DVD and said take a 1-minute clip of this for Web. She had handed me a three-hour conversation of some of Hollywood’s brightest stars and Oscar nominees in conversation with Newsweek’s top film editor, folks like George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I recognized the potential on the disc, convinced my editors to let me publish it in full and in multiple parts (with slightly clickbaity quotes as links).

It earned enormous traffic, and I worked to turn it into an annual video franchise. Our publisher found a marquee sponsor, and we later turned the Emmy Roundtable into a sponsored series too.
